5 May 2021: Webinar: Using the SDGs in interdisciplinary partnership to affect positive change
Partnership to ensure that we ‘leave nobody behind’ is a foundational principle of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This discussion shared O’Brien’s teaching experience of an online course that uses Education for Sustainable Development to empower and equip the students to affect change. She brought together over 80 voices from policy, practice and the front line of sustainable development to critically unpack sustainability’ using the SDGs. Partnering with the students from diverse backgrounds turned her multidisciplinary teaching into interdisciplinary learning to shed genuinely new light on old sustainability problems. The discussion included thoughts about how to further develop this approach in an effort to partner with learners beyond the usual self-selected ‘greenies’.
