Call for papers: Special Issue on Sustainable Consumption and Production in a New Normal

Journal of Cleaner and Responsible Consumption is seeking contributions for a special issue of “Special Issue on Sustainable Consumption and Production”.

The term ‘new normal’ has been historically used to refer to the state to which an economy or society recovers following a crisis. Interestingly, the practices which were rapidly adopted during the COVID-19 pandemic have demonstrated that the world can operate on a low-carbon framework. This Special Issue takes off from the discussions made during the 15th Asia Pacific Roundtable for Sustainable Consumption and Production (APRSCP) Conference. It aims to reimagine Sustainable Consumption and Production in light of the new normal and in support of green recovery. Topics of interest range widely from environmental, business, and policy-based studies.Special issue information:

Submissions, in the form of short communications or original research articles, both presented and not in the series of webisodes, are welcome. Particularly, topics of interest are the following:

  • Post-pandemic opportunities and roles for SCP;
  • Experiences and challenges in developing and implementing SCP roadmaps;
  • Understanding countries’ diversity and shared priorities in the development and implementation of SCP policies;
  • Climate change-resource nexus in sustainable consumption;
  • How SCP policy-making efforts can support green recovery, especially in the critical industries;
  • Adapting and adopting SCP in the age of digitalization;
  • Green public procurement & ecolabelling in sustainable consumption;
  • Policy instruments for circular economy;
  • Impacts of the post-pandemic SCP transition to supply chain management;
  • Eco-Industrial Development on sustainable consumption;
  • Role of international trade on SCP in the post-pandemic world;
  • Business models and consumption practices for circular economy and sustainable lifestyle.
