Yue-Gau Chen

Dr. Yue-Gau Chen is appointed as a Director and Distinguished Research Fellow in the Research Center for Environmental Changes, Academia Sinica. He is also a co-appointed Professor in the Depart of Geosciences, National Taiwan University. Dr. Chen has gained experience in working on Long-term Environment Changes and Earthquake Geology. He is well familiar with scientific techniques of Stable Isotope Analysis, Quaternary Dating Method, Morpho-tectonics, and Fault Kinematics. In 2008 he was elected as a fellow of the Geological Society of America. From 2010 to 2012 he served as Section President in Asia Oceania Geosciences Society. From 2012 to 2016 he spent a secondment term as Director General in the Department of Natural Science and Sustainability Development, at the Ministry of Science and Technology, of Taiwan, promoting domestic and international scientific research programs and collaborations. Between 2016 and 2017 he served on the Steering Committee of Belmont Forum. Dr. Chen currently serves as the Chair of the Governing Board of Future Earth Taipei Hub.
